• Uddevalla Choreographic Lab

    Uddevalla, Sweden

    29 August – 02 September 2016

    The Choreographic Labs focus on:

    • Artistic exchange with the aim to increase understanding and mobility
    • Growing a professional and inclusive talent pool
    • The opportunity to identify dancers for recruitment across borders
    • Demonstrating potential in choreography, identified and supported in making high quality inclusive work

The project’s first Choreographic Lab took place at Regionteater Väst and Bohusläns Museum in Uddevalla from 29 August to 2 September 2016 and was led by choreographers Fin Walker (UK), Colette Sadler (UK) and Carl Olof Berg (SE).

Part of the Uddevalla Choreographic Lab was a day-long symposium “Vem vågar ge plats på scen?” (Who dares to make room on stage?) on 1 September. This day was aimed at producers, programmers and curators to promote inclusive work by discussing good inclusive practice and the artistic possibilities this can create.

The Uddevalla Choreographic Lab ended with a public showing at the Bohusläns Museum on 2 September where the choreographers presented the outcomes of the week’s research.
